Ed Barron

This is TheBody.com's collection of in-depth video interviews with people who are living, and often thriving, with HIV.

Most Recent Video: Ed Barron has had his share of challenges in life. After being honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy for being gay, and after the dissolution of his last major relationship, he was diagnosed with HIV in 1986. He has since survived anal cancer and hepatitis C coinfection. Ed is the picture of resilience in the face of adversity. The key to his success is a great relationship with his doctor, who he says "won't co-sign my crap."

A Day in the Life

Garbo Chang

Keeping up with HIV meds often means having to weave daily doses into a busy life. How do other HIVers do it? In each episode of this video series, we'll take a peek into the day-to-day routine of a person who's living with HIV, taking HIV meds, and dealing with situations that get in the way of adherence.

Most Recent Video: "At this point in my life, I really want to maintain my health," says Garbo Chang, who has been living with HIV for 25 years. Garbo works 9 to 5 all week, and budgeting time and money for relaxation is a top priority for relieving stress. This video follows Garbo aboard a cruise ship with good friends; he shares his fun experiences, as well as tips for adhering to HIV meds at home, on the job and on the high seas.

The Positive Project

Dee Dee

Since its founding in 2000, The Positive Project has collected more than 100 first-person stories told by people infected or affected by HIV/AIDS. These stories are used to reduce stigma, raise awareness, promote prevention, encourage testing and enhance care.

Most Recent Video: Dee Dee, 39, is a transgender woman from Illinois who's been living with HIV for 10 years. She shares her response to being diagnosed, after being infected by a boyfriend who later died; why it was difficult for her to start medication; her thoughts on disclosure; and offers advice for the transgender community.

Mark S. King's Video Blog: My Fabulous Disease

Mark vs. Mark

Mark S. King has been an active HIV activist, writer and community organization leader since the early 1980s in Los Angeles. He has been an outspoken advocate for prevention education and for issues important to those living with HIV.

Diagnosed in 1985, Mark has held positions with the Los Angeles Shanti Foundation, AID Atlanta and AIDS Survival Project, and is an award-winning writer. He continues his volunteer work as an HIV educator and speaker for conferences and events.

Most Recent Video: What if you could witness a face-to-face confrontation between a man living with HIV and the sex partner accusing him of not revealing his status? Wouldn't you like to be a fly on that wall? The fireworks could be mighty, as emotions raged between the furious accuser and the positive person trying to defend his actions.
