U.S. News National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness DaySeptember 15, 2010 Saturday is designated as National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day. On Wednesday in south Florida, the Pride Center at Equality Park will host a free seminar on the health and legal issues confronting seniors living with HIV/AIDS. Scheduled to speak are Scott Schoettes, Lambda Legal HIV Project staff attorney; Carl M. Galli, president of SAGE of South Florida; and Sara Bowling, plaintiff in a recent lawsuit that successfully challenged an assisted living facility's eviction of her father because he is HIV-positive. The Sept. 15 event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pride Center, 2040 N. Dixie Hwy., Wilton Manors.
