Miami Man, 22, Debuts in "HIV+Me" Video Campaign from Logo, the Gay MTV Network

A south Florida man is the latest spokesperson for the "HIV+Me" prevention and awareness campaign produced by Logo, MTV's gay-oriented network. "The stigma is the biggest thing about HIV," Jesse Sanchez says in his video. "Yeah, you can treat it. Yeah, people are understanding that you're not going to die, that you're not contagious from drinking out of my cup, but the stigma that surrounds HIV is horrible." His video is one of eight now available on Logo's website. "The whole purpose of the campaign is two very specific caveats," said Adam Abernathy, the Logo producer who oversees the project. "If you don't know your status, we want you to be tested. And if you are HIV-positive, we want you to know you're not alone." He added while "HIV is a very manageable disease, we want people to know that it's easier to be HIV-negative."
