3rd Annual Ace Walkathon

On Saturday, September 9, 1995, ACE held their 3rd annual Walkathon within the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. The event is in honor of inmates' families and friends who have died of AIDS. All of their names are read over a microphone as inmates walk. Traditionally, over 250 inmates participate in the walk. Many of them are sponsored by Correctional Officers and Correctional Civilians.

The funds raised from this years event will be distributed to: Incarnation Children's Center (I.C.C.), a homelike residence for infants and young children with HIV/AIDS, Inpatient Care Unit (IPC Infirmary) at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility, and The ACE Program at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. ACE stands for AIDS Counseling & Education. It's an Organization by and for women at Bedford Hills, prisoners helping other prisoners. "Together, we cope with the problems created by the AIDS epidemic".
