Are You Ready for the Release of the U.S. National HIV/AIDS Strategy?
June 25, 2010
This article was provided by the HIV Prevention Justice Alliance.
We anticipate that President Obama will release the National HIV/AIDS Strategy very soon: a comprehensive, five-year plan of action to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic in the United States.
After nearly 30 years battling HIV/AIDS, will the federal government finally have a coordinated plan of action designed to achieve greater progress against the epidemic?
Members of the HIV Prevention Justice Alliance and the CHAMP Network have been part of a massive mobilization demanding a Strategy that addresses the root causes of HIV, changes the structures that increase vulnerability to HIV infection, hones in on those at the core of the epidemic in the United States, and is measurable and accoutable. It's vital that we stay engaged to ensure that the Strategy really works.
