Sweet Tea: Black Gay Men of the SouthMay 8, 2010
Dynamic performer, author, educator and Ellen Stone Belic Institute Fellow, E. Patrick Johnson, seamlessly portrays interviewees from his recent publication on black gay southern life. The acclaimed book by Johnson is an oral history of Southern black gay men ranging in age from 18 to 93 that explores the relationship between blackness, sexuality, and southern culture. Sweet Tea will be brought to life in a theatrical adaptations directed by Daniel Alexander Jones and co-produced by Jane m. Saks, the Ellen Stone Belic Institute for the Study of Women and Gender in the Arts and Media, and About Face Theatre.
