Congratulations to Sir Elton John, honored as one this year's Time 100, that magazine's listing of people it believes most affect our world. In addition to describing him as one of the "world's great artists," which everybody knows, Time observes: "He joined the battle against AIDS when it was unpopular and stayed in long after the cause had faded from the spotlight" and uses his "considerable resources to protect and advocate for the most vulnerable among us." That means us. Sir Elton has long been a supporter of the fight to end AIDS in Black communities. For that, we honor and thank him.
