Canada: Joint Services Planned for AIDS Day

November 23, 2009

At least nine local churches are planning observances on or around World AIDS Day, Dec. 1. In downtown Cambridge, eight congregations are coming together at Trinity Anglican Church for an ecumenical AIDS awareness event with keynote speaker Dr. Anne-Marie Zajdlik. The Guelph physician is leading the "Bracelet of Hope" campaign to raise money to treat HIV/AIDS patients in the tiny African kingdom of Lesotho. The Ecumenical Advocacy Alliance is distributing a special liturgy for use in World AIDS Day services; for more information, visit www.e-alliance.ch.
