Project Inform

Greetings, Wise Women!

July 2002

In this issue we focus on women over 50 who are living with HIV. There are many health concerns related to aging that may or may not impact HIV. This issue highlights the research that has been done on aging and HIV; discusses what happens to your immune system as you get older and how HIV can impact that process; and discusses HIV and menopause, treatments for menopause and what you can do to relieve symptoms. Finally, we provide some resources and a screening chart that you can take to the doctor to help guide you in your healthcare.

A few new sections in this Wise Words will continue to be a part of every issue. Positive Voices is dedicated to women living with HIV and their stories. Also, Program Updates are emails and letters we receive from you and want to share with other readers. Please continue to send your program descriptions to me at seddens@projectinform.org. We hope you enjoy this new format!

Look for highlights from the International Conference on AIDS in the next issue! Till next time ...

Peace & Blessings,
