International News Adebayor Chosen for UN Role to Combat AIDSMarch 30, 2009 Soccer star Emmanuel Adebayor has been named by the UN as a global ambassador to fight HIV/AIDS. A native of Togo, Adebayor is a striker for the Holloway Arsenal and will work in the UNAIDS effort with Michael Ballack, a native of Germany and a midfielder with the Chelsea Football Club.
