International News South Africa: Standard Bank Signs Pact on AIDS FightFebruary 27, 2009 In Johannesburg on Feb. 19, Standard Bank Group signed an agreement with the Pan African Business Coalition, Africa's largest business coalition fighting HIV/AIDS. Arno Van Haght, SBG's marketing and communications senior manager, said the bank has spent more than R65 million (US $6.4 million) each year since 2004 to support HIV/AIDS programs in the 16 African nations where it operates. It will likely invest more than R5 million (US $495,569) during the next three years to support PABC technical requirements, Van Haght said.
