In Johannesburg on Feb. 19, Standard Bank Group signed an agreement with the Pan African Business Coalition, Africa's largest business coalition fighting HIV/AIDS. Arno Van Haght, SBG's marketing and communications senior manager, said the bank has spent more than R65 million (US $6.4 million) each year since 2004 to support HIV/AIDS programs in the 16 African nations where it operates. It will likely invest more than R5 million (US $495,569) during the next three years to support PABC technical requirements, Van Haght said.
