U.S. News New York: Black Leadership Group to Host Meeting on AIDSJanuary 6, 2009 As part of its call for black clergy and other community leaders to take a stronger stand against the epidemic, the Black Leadership Commission on AIDS of Buffalo will host a community meeting on Jan. 13 at 6 p.m. The commission is invoking the Kwanzaa principle of "ujima," or collective work and responsibility, in its call for greater involvement. "Just as the African-American community fervently came to make history and elect the nation's first African-American president, leaders are banding together today to bring an end to HIV/AIDS and its potential to obliterate our community," said a statement by the commission.
