U.S. News Utah: AIDS Group to Open Thrift StoreSeptember 11, 2008 The People with AIDS Coalition of Utah is negotiating to purchase a building in South Salt Lake to use as a thrift store whose proceeds will support the organization and its programs for people affected by HIV. "It's going to open up so many new possibilities for our organization," said Executive Director Toni Johnson. "It's got enough space that I can move our offices into it." Plans call for the store to stock clothing, furniture, and a variety of household items, and need-based vouchers will be issued for shoppers with HIV/AIDS. The coalition hopes to be in the space by October and to be open for business by Oct. 31.
