International News Zimbabwe Journalist Wins CNN AwardJuly 28, 2008 CNN's African Journalist of the Year prize has been awarded to Hopewell Rugoho-Chin'ono. The Zimbabwean journalist received the recognition for his documentary "Pain in My Heart," which chronicles his nation's struggle against HIV/AIDS. Selected from among 1,911 entries from Africa, the film also won the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Award for Excellence in HIV/AIDS Reporting in Africa. At a ceremony in Ghana, Rugoho-Chin'ono called the award "a huge honor" and said it "goes a long way to improving journalistic standards for many colleagues who are working under very difficult conditions."
