Olive leaf (Olea europaea) extract is a modern version of traditional Mediterranean remedy for preventing fevers. It is also reputed to have antioxidant properties. Like many herbs, test-tube studies of olive leaf extract have found antiretroviral properties. However, there have been no clinical trials in PHAs. Olive leaf extract is available in many health food stores. Olive leaf may be dried and brewed as a tea and is available as an extract in capsule form.
