North Carolina: Walk for AIDS Set for April 5

April 1, 2008

On April 5, House of Mercy will hold its 15th Annual Walk for AIDS. Organizers hope to raise $25,000 for the residence for low-income people living with advanced AIDS. Registration for the three-mile walk will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the stone shelter on Mercy Drive. The walk starts at 10 a.m. A picnic reception featuring Americana-style folk music by Kevin Edwards and Rick Spreitzer will follow on the House of Mercy grounds. The first 250 walkers raising $10 or more will receive "Walk for AIDS" T-shirts, and prizes will be awarded for the top fundraisers and best banners.
