District of Columbia: HIV/AIDS Health Fair

"Living Life Like It’s Golden: A Community Day of Wellness" is the theme of a health fair being held Sunday from 3 to 6:30 p.m. at Howard University Hospital, 2041 Georgia Ave. NW in Washington. HIV testing will be offered along with presentations on treatment and nutrition for people with the virus. The D.C. Department of Health HIV/AIDS Administration is presenting the fair. The District has the nation’s highest rates of AIDS patients and new AIDS cases, and its AIDS mortality rate is ten times that of the nation.
