Sweden: H&M to Launch "Fashion Against AIDS"
December 31, 2007
In February, retailer H&M will launch a "Fashion Against AIDS" assortment in partnership with designers, artists, and musicians including Jade Jagger, Rufus Wainwright, Rihanna, Good Charlotte, My Chemical Romance, and Timbaland. Men's and women's hoodies, t-shirts, and tank tops will show an array of safe-sex messages targeted to 15- to 24-year-olds. The campaign wants to increase young people's awareness of HIV/AIDS, which infects some 12 million people in the 15-24 age group. Artists donated their services for the pieces, which range in price from $12.90 to $34.90, with 25 percent of the profits going to HIV prevention projects worldwide.
