Texas: Federal Aid to Area Homeless to Jump 20 Percent
December 28, 2007
On Dec. 21, US Housing and Urban Development officials announced a significant boost in aid to agencies that serve the homeless, including those with HIV. Among the nearly 30 recipients is the AIDS Foundation of Houston, which could receive more than $1.2 million to provide transitional housing for women and children with HIV, patients with a dual diagnosis, and single patients, said CEO Kelly McCann. Around 80 percent of AFH's clients live on an annual income of $10,000 or less, said McCann.
