Cambodia's HIV/AIDS prevalence rate, in decline since 1998, has hit a new low of 0.9 percent, according to a report in Cambodia Daily. Among pregnant women, however, the rate had declined only to 1.1 percent from 2.1 percent in 1999. And of the 67,200 HIV/AIDS cases documented by the National Center for HIV/AIDS, Dermatology and STIs, about 52 percent are women. Of the approximately 35,000 female patients, 15,050 are married women, said Ing Kanthaphavi, the nation's minister of women's affairs.
