International News Africa Shifts International AIDS Conference Venue Over LogisticsOctober 31, 2007 The International Conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA), slated to take place in December in Gabon, has been rescheduled for next year in Dakar, Senegal, due to logistical problems. ICASA will now be held Dec. 8-11, 2008, said the Society for AIDS in Africa. "This decision was taken ... after it became clear that it would be impossible to hold the ICASA in Gabon owing to logistical problems that could not be overcome by December 2007," SAA, which is organizing the conference, said on its Web site. More than 5,000 delegates are expected to attend next year's symposium in Dakar. Agence France Presse 10.31.2007 This article was provided by U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
