U.S. News California: Governor Signs “Sperm-Washing” MeasureSeptember 12, 2007 On Tuesday, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed a measure changing a law that had banned the transfer of bodily fluids from HIV-positive donors. SB 443, by Sen. Carole Migden (D-San Francisco), will allow the wives or partners of HIV-positive men to conceive utilizing "sperm-washing" technology to minimize the infection risk for mother and infant.
