U.S. News North Carolina: HIV Testing Urged for All Moms-to-BeAugust 24, 2007 The N.C. Commission for Public Health voted Wednesday to endorse a recommendation that all pregnant women in the state be required to undergo HIV testing in their third trimester unless they had been tested earlier. Testing would also be required of all newborns of unknown HIV status when they are brought to a medical facility.
