International News Thailand: Safety Measures for World University Games Include Cops and CondomsAugust 7, 2007 Almost 8,000 athletes ages 17 to 28 are heading to Bangkok for the 24th Summer World University Games beginning this week. As some 9,000 police safeguard the youths, medical teams will be handing out condoms as well as treating illnesses and injuries. "As everyone is aware, prevention is the best measure against HIV/AIDS," said Varin Tankasiri, secretary for the event's medical team.
