U.S. News Ohio: AIDS Agency Changes NameJuly 31, 2007 In a move its leader says better reflects its mission, AIDS Volunteers of Cincinnati has changed its name to Stop AIDS. "We're no longer only volunteers, and we deliver services beyond the city of Cincinnati," said CEO Victoria Brooks. "What's more, the public's growing complacency about the AIDS epidemic inspired us to choose a new name as urgent as our challenge -- Stop AIDS." Based in Over-the-Rhine, the agency was founded in 1983 and offers testing, prevention education, and care services.
