Australia: Abbott Drops Suit Against ACT UP-Paris

The International AIDS Society recently announced that Abbott Laboratories has agreed to drop a lawsuit against ACT UP-Paris for allegedly attempting to disrupt the drug maker's Web site. The drug maker said the attempted sabotage was a retaliatory strike against Abbott for suspending the provision of an AIDS drug to Thailand. IAS said it acted as a liaison between the disputants.
