Charles Hicks, M.D.

Dr. Hicks is an associate professor of medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, N.C. He also serves as associate director of the Duke AIDS Research and Treatment Center. The Duke Clinic provides care for more than 1,550 HIV-infected persons and has a diverse research agenda that includes participation in the AIDS Clinical Trials Group and many industry-sponsored trials.

Dr. Hicks has been involved in clinical research and patient care for HIV-infected patients since the early 1980s. He is the recipient of the A.B. Hoff Memorial Research Prize Medal, the Bailey K. Ashford Clinical Research Award and the Eugene A. Stead Jr. Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Dr. Hicks is a graduate of the George Washington University School of Medicine and completed fellowships in medical science and infectious diseases at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He is a fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the Infectious Diseases Society of America.
