Oklahoma: HIV, AIDS Awareness Groups Offer Free Testing This Week
June 25, 2007
AIDS awareness groups are urging Oklahomans to take advantage of free HIV testing opportunities this week as part of Wednesday's National HIV Testing Day. A mobile testing van, provided by the Oklahoma AIDS Care Fund, will offer testing at communities in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. "We want to ... make HIV testing a routine thing and help remove the stigma from it," said Nina Johnson, prevention coordinator for Guiding Right Inc., which focuses its HIV-prevention efforts on black communities in Oklahoma, Cleveland, and Logan counties.
