Gov. Rod Blagojevich recently announced $2.425 million in housing grants to 16 community-based organizations across the state. The grants will provide a range of services, from lodging to rehabilitation, to supportive services such as case management and substance abuse treatment, for HIV/AIDS patients. "Many men and women infected with HIV/AIDS are at risk of losing their homes because of high medical costs," Blagojevich said in a statement. "These grants will allow us to help dozens of individuals keep a place they can call their own while they fight against this devastating disease." Among the groups receiving grants are Asian Human Services ($25,000), Chicago House and Social Services ($150,000), Jo Ray House ($150,000), and Vision House ($300,000).
