International News Canada: Restaurants Gear Up for Night of Fundraising for HIV/AIDSApril 20, 2007 On Wednesday evening, April 25, 43 mostly Ottawa-area restaurants will participate in the ninth year of A Taste for Life, an event in which they donate 25 percent of receipts to local AIDS organizations. This year's beneficiaries are the Snowy Owl AIDS Foundation - which gives money to organizations providing AIDS education, prevention, direct or support services and primary care - and Bruce House, which provides housing, compassionate care and support to people with HIV/AIDS. Last year, the event raised $50,000 Canadian ($44,500 US), which the two agencies split. For more information, visit www.atasteforlife.org.
