Alabama Joins National Effort to Increase HIV/AIDS Awareness

February 8, 2007

Across Alabama on Wednesday, communities and health departments observed National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Educational events were organized at campuses and health departments in Auburn, Selma, Birmingham, Montgomery, and Mobile, according to Randy Jones of the state health department's disease prevention division. Members of the Alabama Legislative Black Caucus donned T-shirts reading, "Got AIDS? How do you know?" to encourage HIV testing.
