Matthew R. Leibowitz, M.D.
After graduating from Harvard University, he received his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He trained in internal medicine at Deaconess Hospital in Boston. He completed his Infectious Disease fellowship at UCLA. With support of the UCLA Specialized Training and Advanced Research fellowship program, he is currently a doctoral student in Epidemiology at the UCLA School of Public Health, focusing on HIV clinical epidemiology and research. In addition to HIV clinical care, Dr. Leibowitz has conducted research in the utility of additional prognostic immunologic markers and in antiretroviral therapy strategy, especially in the setting of drug resistance. He is also interested in sexually transmitted disease epidemiology, education, and treatment. Support for Dr. Leibowitz's research has come from the NIAID and GlaxoSmithKline. He has served as a consultant to Boehringer-Ingelheim. |
