Lauren Shaiova, M.D.
A graduate of Indiana University, the Autonomous University of Guadalajara and New York Medical College, Dr. Shaiova completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at St. Vincent's Hospital in 1994, and conducted her fellowship in the Cancer Pain Medicine and Palliative Care unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 1994 to 1997.
Dr. Shaiova uses pharmacological therapies, opioids and adjuvants to manage pain and other symptoms in patients experiencing high levels of distress related to the diseases from which they are suffering. She is involved in clinical research and quality of life studies in the pain and palliative care setting.
Dr. Shaiova has been published in many medical journals and other publications and has lectured internationally. She teaches pain medicine and palliative care at Beth Israel Medical Center. In addition to her position at Beth Israel, she is also an associate professor at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
