Professor Phillips is Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the Royal Free & University College Medical School and Scientific Director at the Royal Free Centre for HIV Medicine in London. His research focuses primarily on patient responses to antiretroviral therapy; over the past several years he has published a significant number of articles on topics ranging from initial-therapy drug regimens to the development of drug resistance.
Professor Phillips' research has been frequently published in top medical journals, including AIDS, the Journal of the American Medical Association, The Lancet and the Journal of Infectious Diseases.
A 1982 graduate of the University of London, Dr. Phillips obtained his Master of Science degree from the University of London School of Hygiene, and received his Ph.D. from the University of London in 1986.
Andrew Phillips has received grants for research, consultancy fees and/or speakers' honoraria from several companies including Abbott Laboratories, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bristol-Myers Squibb, GlaxoSmithKline and Roche Labs.
