Texas: Artists Help Raise AIDS Awareness

November 30, 2006

Local artists will mark World AIDS Day with the "Art Rage Us" event Friday and Saturday at the Resource Center of Dallas, 2701 Reagan St., Dallas. Telephone 214-528-0144. On Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., "World AIDS Day Gospel Fest" will take place at the Paul Quinn College chapel, 3837 Simpson Stuart Rd. Presenting sponsor the La Sima Foundation will offer free HIV and syphilis tests on Friday at 777 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway, Ste. 105. On Saturday, Abounding Prosperity, a group assisting black men with HIV/AIDS, will celebrate the opening of its new headquarters at 1816 Peabody Ave.
