California: Forums, Concerts to Mark World AIDS Day

November 28, 2006

The numerous Bay Area events planned in commemoration of World AIDS Day include the following. On Dec. 1 at 12:30 p.m., community members will mark the 15th anniversary of the National AIDS Memorial Grove in Golden Gate Park. Visit www.aidsmemorial.org. Jeanne White-Ginder, mother of the late Ryan White, will speak at the Commonwealth Club, 595 Market St., at noon on Friday. For ticket information telephone 415-597-6700 or visit www.commonwealthclub.org/reservations/index.php. The San Francisco AIDS Foundation will present a forum entitled "Renew the Promise. End AIDS" on Friday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the San Francisco Public Library, 100 Larkin St. Speakers will include Dr. Timothy Mastro of CDC and Judith Auerbach, PhD of SFAF; the public is invited.
