Medical News AIDS Vaccine Contract Awarded to Argos TherapeuticsNovember 2, 2006 Durham, North Carolina-based Argos Therapeutics has been awarded a $21.3 million National Institutes of Health contract to develop an AIDS vaccine. Argos is researching vaccines that provoke patient-specific immune responses to infectious diseases and cancer. The five-year contract is to determine the potency of the Argos vaccine and to work on immunotherapies for potential clinical trials.
