International News MedMira Gets U.S. FDA Approval on Fast HIV TestOctober 24, 2006 On Thursday, Canada-based MedMira Inc. announced its Reveal rapid HIV-1 antibody test had received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Previous versions of the test received FDA approval in 2003 and 2004; the latest version of the test, Reveal G3, delivers results in less than three minutes, the company said. The new version replaces a colorimetric detection agent used to visualize results on the test cartridge, thereby eliminating the need for reconstitution and refrigeration.
