Texas: March Against AIDS Goes On

On Sunday, hundreds of people braved high humidity and intermittent drizzle to participate in the 19th annual walk to benefit AIDS Services of Austin and other local service organizations. At least $109,000 had been pledged by the start of the walk, said ASA Executive Director Lee Manford. The event also marked the fourth annual National Latino AIDS Awareness Day. Prior to the walk, Jennifer Herrera y Nava, ASA's director of prevention, and former state Rep. Glen Maxey urged the crowd to keep up the battle against HIV/AIDS.
