Georgia: Warner Robins CME Church Hosts HIV Awareness Day

October 13, 2006

On Saturday, the Warner Robins CME Church will host an HIV/AIDS Awareness Day at its family life center at 200 Othal H. Lakey Circle. The event will offer free HIV testing conducted by the Rainbow Center of Macon and as well as free food and door prizes, said Teresa Brooks, coordinator. Pastor Lindsey Napier said the event was planned because HIV/AIDS prevention is an issue on which the church needs to take a leadership role. "A lot of churches shy away from all those issues that deal with human sexuality, but when it affects so many of our people, you can't shy away from it," said Napier.
