Money for AIDS Making A Difference

The Los Angeles Commission on HIV Health Services is a body of people from the community who help to determine the level of services and programs available in Los Angeles County through Ryan White CARE Act Funds.

We Need You

There are currently 48 commissioners, 16 of which are people with HIV. Only 14 of these sets are reserved for people with HIV. Of the 48 commissioners now serving, only two are women with HIV.

The commission needs YOU! Your voice can be a powerful force, because the commission makes decisions that affect all of us with HIV. Right now, this group of people, dominated by HIV-negative women and men are making decisions that affect our lives! This is unacceptable.

We need you to consider applying for one of the nearly one dozen seats on the commission that will become available in June. No experience is necessary, Women Alive and Being Alive will help to prepare you for this role.

Our Future

By acting now, we can ensure that a majority of these open seats will be filled by women and others that actually live with this disease. We are the experts. The time to get involved is now. Let's work together to put our future back into our own hands!
