AIDS Action And The Names Project Foundation Announce New Campaign "Remember Them With Your Vote"November 29, 1995 "Remember Them With Your Vote"
The NAMES Project Foundation and AIDS Action Council will join forces in 1996 in a national campaign to challenge complacency about the HIV/AIDS epidemic by getting out the vote on AIDS. The campaign, "Remember Them With Your Vote," combines voter education and registration efforts with displays of the AIDS Memorial Quilt in congressional districts across the country. As part of the campaign, members of Congress will be invited to display Quilt panels made by and for their constituents in their district and Washington offices. People who have made quilt panels will be urged to write or visit their representatives asking them to make AIDS a federal priority in 1996. "Remember Them With Your Vote" will culminate in the display of the entire AIDS Memorial Quilt on the National Mall in Washington, DC, October 11-13, 1996. For more information about how you can participate with this campaign call Anthony Rios at AIDS Action, 202-986-1300, extension 3067. For 1996 display dates of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, call the NAMES Project Foundation at 415-882-5500.
