- New number ($624.9m) reflects a Congressional accounting change. In the past, amount going directly to the office of the CDC director was included in the CDC total ($634.3m). This change does not represent any loss in money for prevention programs.
- The Subcommittee has proposed an additional $150 million increase in forward funding for ADAP for FY '99-2000.
- The final totals reflect $52 of $110 million dollars secured by the Congressional Black Caucus. The remaining $58 million is allocated for emergency spending to eliminate racial and ethnic health disparities and the Office of Minority Health.
