We are writing to let you know about the January 26-27, 1997 Families USA Health Care Conference: Health Action '97 National Consumer Grassroots Meeting. AIDS Action is an official co-sponsor. The conference will be a great opportunity for HIV/AIDS health advocates to strengthen ties with consumer advocates representing a wide range of constituencies -- seniors, disability organizations, labor, children's groups.

National Consumer Grassroots Meeting

January 26 - 28, 1997

Our health care system is in a period of turbulent change. Join your colleagues from other states as we lay the groundwork for the year ahead. Health Action '97 will link community leaders and advocates from diverse constituencies -- children, seniors, labor, immigrants, persons with disabilities -- to find ways we can work together to protect consumers. The sessions will cover consumer issues in managed care; the corporatization of health care (or the loss of our nonprofits); and the affirmative agenda in the states and federally.

The conference will be held January 26 to 28, 1997. Registration fee is $150 until December 15; after that date, $175. The conference will take place at the Omni Shoreham Hotel in Washington, DC. There is a special conference rate of $115 per room plus taxes.
