Ryan White Care Act Conference Committee To Meet Tomorrow, March 27, 1996

AIDS Action has confirmed that the Ryan White CARE Act Conference Committee will meet tomorrow, March 27, 1996 at 4:00 p.m. est to begin the final stage of the reauthorization process.

We urge you to call the conference committee members with the following messages:

  • Adopt the Kassebaum amendment which supports voluntary counseling and testing of pregnant women; and

  • Oppose the Coburn/Waxman amendment which requires the HIV testing of newborns and ultimately ties Title II CARE Act funds to testing of pregnant women and infants.

Conferees need to hear from you and the people you serve. If your member is listed below, please call and let them know where you stand.
