The Academy Web SitePatient Handout Library Is Newly Revised!: Expanded, but Easier to Use
June 2002 To make the Handout Library at the Academy Web site more user-friendly for our members, we have completely redesigned and updated it to better suit your needs. To help simplify your search, you will now find several broad HIV topic areas:
Each topic area contains well-written, current fact sheets on a variety of subtopics or issues related to the topic area.
The Handout Library is by no means exhaustive. We have included Resource Lists and More Treatment Information so that you can access more in-depth or additional information as needed. We hope that you find the Handout Library useful and that you will send us feedback on what you like and what we could improve upon. If you have any comments or suggestions, please e-mail them to suggestions@aahivm.org. More Than 900 Credential With AAHIVM!Through May, the Academy has received 901 AAHIVM HIV Specialist credentialing applications. Of these, the Academy has already credentialed over 780 HIV Specialists throughout the country. To note their status on the Academy Web site, we have placed a credentialed symbol on profiles of members who have successfully completed the credentialing process. Next Exam Scoring Deadline June 30, 2002The next deadlines for the HIV Medicine Competency Exam are June 30, 2002, and November 30, 2002. So send in your answer sheets! If you have any questions, contact Luz Castro-Bran atluz@aahivm.org or 310-278-6380. Academy Web Site Will Limit Most Access to Members OnlyBeginning July 1, 2002, the Academy Web site will limit access to provider resources pages, including Conferences, Conference Archive, and Resources, but not the Referral Database. As a result of member feedback, we will not limit access to patient handouts. Each member has already received a password to access the Web site. Although your original password was assigned by the Academy, you can change your password to suit your preference. However, we do not have access to any new passwords you create. If you should lose a password you have created, go to the Member Services page at www.aahivm.org, and enter the information to have your password resent to you. If you have any questions, please contact the Membership Coordinator at 310-278-6380 or membership@aahivm.org.
