The Academy Web Site
Changes for Credentialing
If you have visited the Academy Website in the past several weeks, you have seen a new symbol on the member profiles. We have added a credentialing symbol to distinguish those members who have obtained the AAHIVM HIV Specialist designation. This symbol will identify for patients and referrals which AAHIVM HIV health care providers in their area have completed and attained the AAHIVM HIV Specialist credential.
Over the past year, visits to our Website have consistently increased. They are now up 400% over the last year, from an average of 50 visits a day to nearly 250. Yet throughout this growth one constant has remained: the Referral Database still receives the highest number of visitors, who stay for longer periods of time. As the Academy continues to meet with patient groups and AIDS organizations, more patients, case workers, and service providers are using the database.
Another important upgrade to the Academy Website now allows members to revise their own profile online. Please take a minute to review your profile online and be sure it is up-to-date -- this will help ensure that we provide referrals with correct information.
If you have any questions regarding your profile, please contact our office by phone at 310-278-6380.
