Provides free legal services to individuals affected by HIV/AIDS who otherwise cannot afford an attorney. It ensures that persons have access to the legal system and receive the protections and benefits provided by law. Also provides education on legal issues of HIV/AIDS. Since 1992, the Legal Project has provided free services to over 1,000 clients on issues involving insurance, discrimination, access to care and public benefits, testing and confidentiality.
AIDS Services Center started in 1989 and in 1994 incorporated into AIDS Services Center Coalition, Inc. This umbrella organization serves as a clearinghouse for information, statistics and as a resource center to give direction to the newly diagnosed, their friends and their families about available services. The A.S.C.C. also provides information on testing for HIV and provides public speakers of PLA's (Persons Living with AIDS) among other services. The AIDS Services Center Coalition, Inc. has a membership of (11) community based organizations, (2) A.S.C.C. affiliated programs and (4) Members-at-Large from within the community. The organization works together as the Louisville AIDS Walk each September working to raise much needed funds to apply to direct services to the HIV + community and their families.

Louisville AIDS Walk unites the community in heightening awareness of HIV/AIDS and in raising money to address the needs of those in our community with HIV/AIDS. One hundred percent of the Walk's net proceeds are distributed to local AIDS organizations providing essential services to people with HIV/AIDS. A donation to the Louisville AIDS Walk is an investment in caring. We are a diverse people dedicated and united to enhance the quality of life of persons living with HIV/AIDS. The goals we share are to promote self-empowerment and education to those persons both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. The AIDS Resource Center works with the community through advocacy, education, peer support and treatment activism. We offer a resource center with over 160 binders on information on HIV/AIDS from "Living With" to "Experimental Therapies," also videos are available for viewing along with internet access. AIDS Interfaith Ministries of Kentuckiana is a group of clergy, laity, and community professionals and volunteers of all faith perspectives committed to offering practical, emotional, spiritual support and counseling to individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS.
Operates the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Hotline which provides information and resources for the GLBT community and to persons seeking information about HIV/AIDS. Volunteer hotline counselors also provide each caller with information regarding safer sex and HIV/AIDS.
Offering counseling to individuals, couples and families infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Group services are also made available to the HIV community.
Provides various programs and services to empower families and individuals who are affected by HIV/AIDS. These include but are not limited to the following: assessments and appropriate referrals; financial assistance, medical care and education; retreats and spiritual support; educational resource counseling and coordination of volunteers to be of service. House of Ruth also administers Glade House and provides case management for those on housing programs. House of Ruth accepts all definitions of family.
Offers hospice care, including nursing services, social work, pastoral care, home health aides, bereavement services and ancillary services for terminally ill patients. All patients accepted regardless of ability to pay.
Offers to the terminally ill of Floyd, Harrison, Clark, Washington, Crawford and Scott counties in-home health-care and counseling regardless of ability to pay.
Provides financial assistance to HIV/AIDS clients for rental assistance and housing.

Provides preventive training for those at high risk, professionals and community volunteers, direct outreach consultation and general information about HIV.
Provides confidential/anonymous testing of all sexually transmitted diseases and HIV. In the state of Kentucky anonymous testing must be requested at the time of testing.
"Louisville Youth Group is a peer support group for gay and lesbian, bisexual and transgender young people under the age of 21." Social and topic meetings are held weekly. We average between 20-30 young people at a meeting and have trained adult facilitators present who can offer referrals. Youth leaders preside over each meeting. The Louisville/Jefferson County Minority AIDS Program of the Lincoln Foundation, Inc. is a federally funded statewide HIV/AIDS educational program. We offer HIV/AIDS education, prevention skills, counseling and testing. Our offices are located in Louisville, Lexington, Hopkinsville, and Bowling Green Kentucky.
Volunteers of America manages the Care Coordinator Program offering case management and financial assistance for health related needs, such as medications, health insurance, nutrition, transportation to medical appointments, and housing stabilization, for people living with HIV/AIDS.
The STOP (Stop the spread of HIV through Testing, Outreach & Prevention) education program of Volunteers of America is dedicated to preventing the spread of HIV through education, outreach, and group interaction, in a caring nonjudgmental and direct manner. Volunteers of America also provides care and treatment for substance abuse in association to HIV/AIDS.
WINGS is a federally funded outpatient medical clinic for HIV+ persons. Ryan White Title III funding, along with the support of University of Louisville Department of Family & Community Medicine, has made it possible for WINGS to operate Monday through Friday 8 am - 5 pm. The goal of WINGS is 100% access to comprehensive medical care for HIV+ persons and 0% disparity in the quality of care provided. WINGS provides services including primary care, infectious diseases, nutrition services, pharmacy, support groups, mental health assessments and referral, as well as liaisons to community services for those with HIV/AIDS.

The resource center keeps updated literature available to people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and those needing to study the facts of HIV/AIDS and other STD's. The innovative education center offers the latest publications, newsletters, Internet access, service organization information and a news board (Hot off the Press). Other user- friendly features offered are an information tree and over 160 educational binders with categories including opportunistic infections, drug protocol, specific populations, living with HIV, advocacy and other empowerment issues. The resource center also allows individuals to sit in a comfortable setting and watch the latest videos available on the center's TV/VCR and has pamphlets from all the pharmaceuticals about treatment. We also offer our POSITIVELY LIVING! educational workshop three times a year and host special forums periodically that are presented by pharmaceutical representatives.
Offers HIV Caregivers Retreats, HIV/AIDS training seminars, speakers and sponsors conferences for clergy and congregations seeking to form a compassionate response to HIV/AIDS.
Educational programs are made available for the work place, brochures and films for the community. Monthly education programs, HIV/AIDS instructor class for African-Americans and AIDS education certification for health professionals are available.

A Louisville based volunteer organization consisting of friends who talk to friends to promote the prevention of HIV within our community through education and a journey of change.
G.M.O.C. provides services to persons by serving as a link between programs and communities. Enable persons to begin the process of reducing personal risks for HIV infection and other STD's.

Our community health outreach workers and dedicated volunteers coordinate several programs to educate the community on how to reduce the risk of contracting HIV. We are often looking for volunteers and participants for our entertaining and informative programs. If you are interested in volunteering, hosting a workshop, being a participant or attending a forum contact the HERO Project. The HERO Project is also a part of Volunteers of America's STOP Program.

LJCMAP (Louisville Jefferson County Minority AIDS Program) formed to prevent the spread of HIV in the African-American community.
AIM offers pastoral care and counseling to individuals, couples and families touched by HIV/AIDS. Crisis counseling for individuals and families is offered when a person is newly diagnosed. Both men's and women's therapy groups are also available. AIM offers pastoral care services that include home and hospital chaplaincy. AIM also offers marriage and funeral ceremony planning and conducting of services by an ordained minister.
Provides mutual support for parents with the death of a child of any age. Information through the Crisis and Information Center.
House of Ruth refers individuals and families affected by HIV/AIDS to appropriate support groups.
KALA (Kentucky AIDS Life Alliance) is a support group for people living with HIV/AIDS and those directly affected by this disease. We are an independent client based organization, which collaborates with other agencies and groups to educate and enlighten people living with HIV as to the resources that are available to them. KALA is a non-discriminative non-profit organization that welcomes everyone personally facing the social and economic conditions that accompany this epidemic in our community today.

SABSA (Sisters and Brothers Surviving AIDS) is not only a support group, but also one who will advocate and speak out on issues that affect African-Americans with HIV/AIDS. We promote prevention through advocacy as well as serving as a place to bring individuals infected and affected by HIV/AIDS together for sharing resource information and collaboration with other local agencies.
