Africa Series Wins Pulitzer

April 21, 2000

The eight-part series "AIDS: The Agony of Africa," by Mark Schoofs of The Village Voice, has won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for international reporting; the awards were announced on April 10. The complete series is available at http://www.villagevoice.com/specials/africa/.
