From the Executive DirectorDecember 2003 Dear Readers,
With the holidays fast approaching, this seems to be a good time for me to take stock of all the changes that have taken place in my life this year and say "Thank You" for all that is good. First and foremost is my appointment as Executive Director of Body Positive and my hope that I have been effective in this new role. I have worked hard to be true to the mission of BP, which is to provide access to the information that HIV-infected, affected and at-risk individuals need to gain control over their lives. In the short time that I have been here, Body Positive itself has undergone some major changes as well. We have held several highly successful events -- the summer boat rides, Social Fridays, Blades Against AIDS -- in addition to the continuation and expansion of our regular outreach and information services. We have forged many new contacts and made many new friends outside of BP who are as dedicated to our mission as we are. Through all of these changes, I have been extremely fortunate to have been surrounded by a truly wonderful, creative, and committed group of staff, peers, volunteers, and board members. Nothing could have been accomplished without each and every one of them. Knowing that there are so many people working with me towards a common goal makes each day easier to face, and each challenge easier to overcome.
